Wonutz Shortfill E-Liquid Review
Wonutz are a range of dessert e-liquids from the UK’s SVC Labs. Home of Cheap Thrills, Miami Drip Club and Chicken Shop, to name just a few of their well known brands, Wonutz are a delicious sounding line of ‘glazed waffled doughnut’ flavours. There are 5 flavours in the range, Cinnamon Swirl Glazed, Coffee Caramel Glazed, Apple Strudel Glazed, Biscuit Custard Glazed and Strawberry Vanilla Glazed. They are sold in great value 100ml short-fill bottles and blended for a DTL friendly 70VG 30PG mix. I’ll be testing them out in a Zeus X RTA from Geek Vape.
I’m starting off with Cinnamon Swirl, as I open the lid it smells great and a lovely waft of deep fried goodness hits my senses as I fill the tank. If you have a sweet tooth and a passion for doughnuts and sweet waffles, then I think this might just be the line of liquids you’ve been looking for.
On the inhale there’s a delightful doughnut taste that isn’t at all greasy, there’s definitely something waffle-like about it too, it sounds strange but there’s something like a hot toasted Belgian waffle in there too. It tastes like it has a buttercream filling and rich vanilla custard poured over it too. Then of course, a light dusting of cinnamon sugar to finish it all off. It’s very tasty and there’s so much going on, it’s a little hard to separate the elements to describe clearly. It’s just a lovely combination of doughnuts, waffles, butter, cream, custard and cinnamon sugar. If that sounds like your kind of thing, then don’t hesitate to pick this up.
Coffee Caramel tastes like it has even more layers of flavour. I get the same or similar doughnut and waffle flavours, with a strong coffee note that’s paired with notes of caramel, cream and vanilla. On the exhale there’s the sweet sugary glaze too.
In a strange way it tastes like a deep fried milky coffee with a caramel and doughnut topping! It’s rich, very sweet and indulgent. It’s one of the few coffee flavours I’ve enjoyed vaping for quite some time. The coffee note, while quite strong, doesn’t ever overtake the waffled doughnut aspect of the liquid. If you’ve always liked the idea of a coffee flavoured e-liquid but struggled to find one you like, then I would give this one a shot. It’s a little different and doesn’t have any of the bitter notes in some coffees.
I’ve tasted Apple Strudel liquids before, but nothing quite like this! What this really reminds me of is those deep fried apple pies from a well known burger chain.
Well, if you put one of those inside a doughnut, toasted it in a waffle maker then poured a thick vanilla and cinnamon custard all over it, then you would be somewhere close. It really is as good as it sounds. If you’ve been looking for a sweet fried apple dessert vape then this needs your attention. This is my favourite of the bunch so far, the apple note is really tasty, just like that sweet, baked apple filling.
After filling the Zeus X with the Biscuit Custard and taking a few pulls, I had to go back and taste the Cinnamon Swirl again. I thought they tasted almost the same and they do in lots of ways. There’s the super-tasty doughnut and waffle base notes, a very similar creamy vanilla custard note but of course the Biscuit Custard Glazed doesn’t have the cinnamon sugar.
What it has instead is a really buttery biscuit thing going on. It tastes a lot like a shortbread, like little shortbread pieces sprinkled over it and stuck on with the glaze. In some ways it’s a slightly less exciting profile but it’s still really well done. It allows the actual doughnut flavour to take a more of a centre stage taste, being surrounded by slightly less complex flavours. There’s some sweet brown sugar notes on the exhale to finish it all off nicely too.
If I saved the best to last I did it accentually, but Strawberry Vanilla is stunning. It might just be because my two favourite doughnuts are jam filled and cream filled, and Strawberry Vanilla Glazed tastes like both together.
It has some really great jammy fruit notes and some sweet fluffy cream whipped in. Put that inside the waffled doughnut and finish it off with a sugary glaze and it’s not far off perfect for my tastes. A strawberry cream doughnut dessert, I’m not sure it gets much better than that!
Overall Summary and Conclusion
SVC have been behind some of the UK’s most popular liquids and it’s easy to see why. They are amazing value, coming in 100ml bottles for a price you’ll be surprised at. The vapour production is very smooth and there’s no harshness or off-notes to be found. I enjoyed all the flavours in the Wonutz range. If you are looking for great value, high quality, UK-made liquids and love doughnut dessert-type flavours then these should be top of your list to try.
